Go-to market product development for a hydrophonics startup

Customer Challenge

Our customer was a startup looking to bring a hydrophonics system to market.
Being an early stage startup, they were looking for an R&D partner who could translate their vision into reality.

The product would was a leafy green station that could help people grow nutritious food at home.
The product concept required an extremely complex controller solution.

Depth of controller experience and prior startup product development experience was a must for the client for R&D partner selection.
After discussion with Denvik, they decided to partner with us to launch this product offering.

Denvik’s approach

Requirements Gathering: We worked with the customer to understand their product vision and controller requirements. As, they were an early stage startup, their requirements also changed as they went deeper into their discovery process.
The Denvik team was quick to adapt if their requirements changed during this phase.

Creation of Proof of Concept (POC): The Denvik team designed a cloud connected controller solution with the ability to interact with multple sensors and communicate with multiple mobile applications.

Testing, Validation & Launch: The product roadmap was divided into multiple phases with phase 1 and phase 2 being functionality required for the initial product launch.
The Denvik team successfully completed designing and testing all controller solutions requirement for initial product launch.

Results/Impact

The Denvik team was able deliver the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) within 6 months.

The time taken from idea to MVP was 67% faster than the the time quoted for a project of such complexity due to the in-depth expertise of the team.

The MVP was very successful and the first batch of products was produced within 3 months of delivering the MVP.
